Chance to sample rail link

A special shadow service of Shropshire's rail link to the capital will be launched today to give people a taste of the journey.

The return service is scheduled to run between Wrexham General and Wolverhampton.

While on board, guests will have the opportunity to experience the journey along the route from both standard and first class coaches.

Operator Wrexham & Shropshire will start the direct service to London Marylebone on Monday.

Mansel Williams, chairman of the Shrewsbury to Chester railway liaison committee, said: "It's a great day for Shropshire."
