Motorists to face three weeks of disruption on Shropshire A-road due to gas works
“Thank you for your patience,” said the gas distribution company responsible for the upcoming works
Drivers who use a major road in Shropshire are set for three weeks of disruption starting later this month due to ongoing gas works.
There will be temporary two-way traffic lights on the A49 north of Church Stretton between Leebotwood and Longner from October 26 until November 20.
The traffic lights will begin at Bridge Farm and extend roughly 750 metres northbound for the period.
These will be in place whilst Cadent continues with its ongoing gas works in the area.
A break in Cadent activity is scheduled between November 9 and 13 whilst another utility company undertakes work in the area.

A Church Stretton Town Council spokesperson said: “Access to businesses and properties will be maintained throughout, and the traffic management will be removed whenever it is safe to do so.
“Weekend working will also be used where possible to help minimise the overall duration of the project.
“Your gas supply will not be affected by these works.
“The temporary traffic management may cause some disruption and Cadent would like to thank you for your patience while they carry out this essential work to maintain the local gas network.”
Cadent’s work forms a part of its ongoing Mains Replacement Programme.
The gas distribution company is upgrading older metal pipes with new plastic infrastructure.
