Tom Grennan on fatherhood and song-writing as he prepares for exciting Llangollen concert
Singer-songwriter Tom Grennan has promised fans much more than A Little Bit of Love when he takes to the stage at Llangollen this summer.
The BRIT-nominated, multi-platinum artist will head to the Welsh town on Sunday, July 5 this year as part of TK Maxx presents Live at Llangollen Pavilion which wraps around the International Musical Eisteddfod.
And he said he is planning an exciting gig for fans.
Tom, who became a dad last year, admits he will miss his daughter Dottie very much during his tour.
But he said he was going out on the road for her.
"She has completely changed my life, in such a good way," he said. "She is everything we hoped for and so so much more."
Currently busy in the studio every day, Tom said having a daughter had added an extra layer to his song-writing.
"I'm not writing about fatherhood but somehow it has added an extra chamber to my heart and its definitely showing in my song-writing," he said.
"I'm also enjoying going back to my song-writing roots and writing from my heart - it's like going back to when I was a kid writing in my bedroom with my guitar."
The singer said he was very excited to be heading to a part of Wales he had not visited before.
He said: "I've been told it is very beautiful - with lots of winding roads. I'm looking forward to spending some time exploring."
He said the International Eisteddfod's ethos of uniting the world through music was at the heart of his own beliefs.
"Music has no language," he said. "Everyone can sing, everyone can dance and everyone can put their arms around each other regardless of language.
"I hope to bring a really exciting gig to Llangollen."
Over the last decade Tom has worked with a host of artists including Chase & Status, Ella Henderson and Calvin Harris.
He said: "I love collaborating with other people. It's fun. You can jump into their world and get so much inspiration."
