Chris Ammonds, Telford police spokesman, said they had received a call that about 20 youths were fighting in Park Avenue.

"Officers responded to the call and on arrival at the scene they found a 40-year-old man on the floor with cuts to his face and ear.

"He was taken to hospital in Telford for treatment but did not suffer any serious injuries. By the time officers arrived at the scene the majority of the youths involved in this disorder has dispersed," he added.

"We believe the majority of the individuals involved were aged between 14 and 18 and that as many as 20 individuals could have been involved in total."
