Major improvements completed at Shrewsbury golf course
One of the greens has also reopened after vandalism
Bunker renovations and a new green are among the improvements made at a golf course in Shrewsbury.
Several improvements have been made at the Meole Brace Golf Course since Shropshire Council brought maintenance of the course back in house in June this year.
Improvements include the renovation of 26 bunkers across the course and the replacement of the 1st green, which has now reopened following vandalism.
In addition, an autumn renovation programme has seen extensive reseeding work, improved contouring of fairways and approaches, and ongoing turf management to help ensure the course remains in excellent condition throughout the year.

Sarah Marston, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for communities and environment, said: “Shropshire Council brought the grounds maintenance contract in-house on 1 June and since then a great deal of hard work has gone into improving the course and enhancing the playing experience for golfers of all abilities.
“To support these improvements, our grounds maintenance team has welcomed additional staff who are working tirelessly to maintain the course to a high standard and continue the programme of enhancements.
“Their dedication is already making a noticeable difference, with many golfers commenting on the improved course conditions, presentation, and overall playing experience.
“As we build on the progress already made, we would love to welcome both new and returning golfers, to see the changes for themselves and enjoy a great round of golf.”
