Police said they already have to make regular patrols outside Tin Tin's Cantonese Restaurant in Wellington Road, Donnington, after a recent spate of vandalism in the area.

The restaurant, which is under new ownership, was being renovated when the rocks came trough the window – narrowly missing workers.

Constable Rob Hughes, of Donnington safer neighbourhood team, said: "We're had quite a few incidents where persons unknown throw rocks at the window and break them.

"It's only recently we've had a spate of vandalism. We've not had any real problems there in the past. Over the last few months it's started to be targeted. If one window gets broken, people think they'll break another.

"It's causing expense for the new person renting it, who is in the process of doing it up."

Anybody with information should call police on 101, referring to incident number 773s of September 29.
