The court heard that more than £11k in cash had also been seized.

Ian Neville, appearing at Shrewsbury Crown Court, admitted one charge of producing a controlled drug of Class B.

Judge Peter Barrie heard that police had raided 54-year-old Neville's home in Dunsheath, Hollinswood, on December 17, 2020.

Alexa Carrier, prosecuting, said that when officers searched the home Neville was found in the front bedroom and was handcuffed – at which point he told them there was a cannabis grow in another room, as well cash in an upstairs office.

Miss Carrier said that 16 plants had been found in the rear bedroom on the first floor, with lights and covers.

Another 30 small plants were found in an airing cupboard.
