The Wrekin's Halfway House sold to Telford-based charity
One of Shropshire's most famous houses has been sold to a charity that hopes to use the space to connect rural areas, educate young people and reform ex-prisoners.
Bosses at Telford-based charity, Yellow Ribbon, have confirmed their offer on The Wrekin's Halfway House has now been accepted.
The property, located at the not-quite-halfway point of the hike up the hill, has provided refreshments to thousands of walkers over its 150-year history as a cafe.
For the last few years attempts to purchase the property for community use have fallen through, with fundraisers failing to secure the asking price.
Now, Yellow Ribbon has confirmed they are on their way to owning the iconic building, with the Halfway House officially sold subject to contract.
