The Telford 10k, which has been held for more than a decade, took place in Telford Town Park, organised by Telford Athletic Club.

The race had to be postponed last month when thick snow blanketed the course and made running impossible.

Organisers were met with early morning frost that thankfully thawed when the wall-to-wall sunshine of the day warmed the ground.

Runners from across Shropshire, the Midlands and Wales, descended on the Telford International Centre, which was race headquarters for the day.

The elite runners, most of them experienced club runners, saw the gun go off first at 10.45am.

The inter-area match for the Midlands region of athletics took place in that first wave.

The masses race began soon after with men, women and young people of all abilities enjoying the chance to run a fast, flat course in the sunshine.

Runners were full of praise for the volunteer marshals who gave up their time to steward the event.
