Four bunches of flowers have been left attached to a lamppost in Haybridge Road, Hadley, just metres away from where the Ercall Wood Technology College pupil suffered fatal injuries on Monday.

The teenager, who has not yet been named, was airlifted to hospital after the collision with the Arriva number seven service but died shortly afterwards.

Today, Chay Davis, head teacher of Ercall Wood Technology College where the boy was a pupil, said: “This is a terrible tragedy and all our thoughts and prayers are with his family at what is a very difficult time.

“I have emailed the parents of all our pupils to tell them what has happened and I also called all the pupils into the school hall yesterday afternoon to tell them.

"I also made them aware that support is available from Telford & Wrekin Council’s counselling service and they have been at the school all day today for pupils to talk to if they feel they need it.”

The youngster was flown by air ambulance from the nearby Hadley Learning Community to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where he was later declared dead.

The bus was travelling from Wellington towards the direction of Trench Lock when the collision happened.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, with Arriva examining CCTV footage from the bus.
