Man in court charged over assault on Telford estate which left man with serious head injuries

A man has appeared in court been charged with wounding with intent after another man was left with serious head injuries following an assault in Telford.

Kyle Vincent Ratcliff, 26, from Sixth Avenue, Ketley Bank, appeared at Telford Magistrates Court today.

A 35-year-old man was assaulted in Blakemore, Brookside.

Detectives gathering evidence at the scene

Forensic teams from West Mercia Police were at the scene over the weekend and white tents had been erected at the scene.

The alleged attack happened at around 9pm on Saturday.

The victim was taken to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where his condition is currently described as stable.

Ratcliff did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody.

Police say they are carrying out a thorough investigation and are urging witnesses that haven’t yet come forward to call 101, quoting incident number 736s of August 5.
