Two taken to hospital after A49 crash in Shropshire

Two people were taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a van on the A49 in south Shropshire.

Both casualties had to be cut free from the car by firefighters, and both were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The crash happened on the A49 at Marshbrook at about 5.30pm on Friday.

Four fire crews were sent from Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Wellington.

Firefighters were also called to a crash in Chester Road, Chetwynd, near Newport, at 8.55pm last night.

It involved one car which left the carriageway.

One fire crew from Newport made the scene safe.
