Woman taken to hospital after car ends up on side in Shrewsbury town centre crash

A woman was taken to hospital after a crash in Shrewsbury town centre this afternoon.

The crash took place on Coton Hill in Shrewsbury shortly after 2pm.

A statement from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "One of our ambulances came across a collision near to the junction of Chester Street and the A528 at 2.09pm.

"One ambulance attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, the driver of one of the cars. She was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."
