Frustrated shoppers and residents have reported being stuck in traffic for "hours" because of the Severn Trent temporary traffic lights on a roundabout at Meole Brace Retail Park in Shrewsbury.

Cars waiting at the lights by Home Bargains have been reportedly blocking the roundabout for traffic leaving and entering the retail park, causing cars to back up in all directions.

Reports on social media suggest weekend shoppers were queuing to exit the retail park for well over an hour, leaving some worried that they'll receive a parking fine for overstaying.

Lauren Smith, from Shrewsbury, was stuck for around 40 minutes on Friday afternoon.

She said: "You couldn't move, it was packed. The main cause is the traffic lights, they're so forward on the roundabout that people are queuing and it's blocking the roundabout towards the A5 and town.

"It's just rammed. People I've spoken to have been stuck for over an hour, it was absolute chaos.
