Ian Bevan, 36, pleaded guilty to a string of offences committed in late March, including a burglary, five thefts and a common assault.

Kidderminster Magistrates Court heard that Bevan, of no fixed abode, committed a burglary at Millets in Shoplatch on March 29.

He also committed thefts at Superdrug at Meole Brace Retail Park on March 15 and March 23. He carried out two further thefts at Sainsbury's in Abbey Foregate on the same day.

Bevan returned to the same Sainsbury's store the next day to steal again, before visiting once more and committing an assault on March 25.

Bevan was jailed by magistrates because his offending was "so serious" and he "has a flagrant disregard for people and their property".
