Inquest opens into death of Shrewsbury cyclist

An inquest has opened into the death of a cyclist hit by a car in Shrewsbury.

Michael Jarnot was riding his bike along Wenlock Road on October 3 when he was involved in a crash with a car, the hearing heard.

The 30-year-old from Shrewsbury was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.18pm by paramedics.

Assistant coroner for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, Joanne Lees opened and adjourned the proceedings until January 23, 2019.
