We Are Whitchurch is a community clean-up group up that started in October 2020 as a result of a discussion between Jack Thornton and Pete Lea about the neglect that some areas in Whitchurch were suffering.

Members of the community have since given up their time to look after and clean up parts of the town which needed a bit of love.

The group started on the five-a-side court at Centre North East which was covered in glass and debris, with blocked drains and overgrown bushes bringing down the fencing.

An appeal was put out on the Facebook group, Whitchurch Have Your Say, for further help for that clean-up which took four Sundays to make the court safe and playable.

The volunteers work hard for two hours on a Sunday between 9am and 11am and the crew is expanding every week thanks to recruiting undertaken by Paul Millington.
