CCTV released after two Shropshire pubs burgled on same night

Two Shropshire pubs were burgled on the same night and police want to trace a man captured on CCTV.

The New Inn at Baschurch and Talbot Inn in nearby Ruyton-XI-Towns were broken into overnight no January 23-24. In both raids money was taken and at one pub an amount of alcohol was also stolen.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who might know the burglar seen on the CCTV at the New Inn.

Police community support officer, Kerry Hogg, said: "We want to trace the man on the CCTV images. Please ring 101 and quote ref: OIS 0348s 240118 if you have any information or recognise the male on the CCTV."

Recently there was a break-in at the Milano's coffee shop in Oswestry when a substantial amount of money was taken after burglars got into the premises after climbing over walls to get into the courtyard.

Burglars also recently broke into the Stanton Inn in Chirk while the landlord slept upstairs.
