Historic chapel on Shropshire and Mid Wales border up for grabs with guide price of just £25k
A historic chapel on the Shropshire and Mid Wales border is set to be auctioned later this month - with a price of £25k.
The former Calvinistic Methodist Church in Trewern, which is part of the Pontrobert parish, is set to go under the hammer, with a guide price of just £25,000.
The property will be part of the live-streamed auction held by SDL Property Auctions, part of Eddisons, on September 25.
Thought to have been built in 1837, the stone-built chapel is located on a sizeable plot of land.
The building is surrounded by open countryside and is located less than five miles from Welshpool and 15 miles from Shrewsbury.
The property retains many of its historic original features, including stained-glass windows and ceramic floor tiles, although it has not held church services for many years and has been used in recent years for storage.
According to auctioneers, the chapel has potential for redevelopment, subject to the relevant planning permission being obtained.
