A school was evacuated and 20 people treated by ambulance medics after they were exposed to a noxious substance.

Emergency services were called to Builth Wells High School at 11amon Wednesday after reports of people suffering breathing difficulties and nausea.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and an investigation was ongoing.

Police said they were treating it as an "isolated incident which is not believed to be terrorist related at this time".

All those treated at the scene were able to go home afterwards and police said there was no danger to the wider public.
