Llandrindod residents invited to set out their priorities before town council budget set

Llandrindod Wells residents have been invited to a pre-budget consultation event.

Organised by Llandrindod Wells Town Council, it will be a chance for residents to talk about their priorities within the town council's legal remit, before the budget is set.

The consultation will take place on Thursday, October 29 from 10am until 2pm and on Friday, October 30 from 10am until 3pm and then 6pm until 7pm at the former Haydn Lewis Financial Services on Temple Street, Llandrindod Wells.

The council said all residents' opinions matter and they can set out their priorities such as parks and green spaces, community facilities, town environment, events and tourism and public spaces before the town council considers its budget for 2027/28.

The pre-budget consultation event follows a residents' drop-in session held by the town council earlier in the year.

It turned out to be a 'worthwhile and constructive opportunity' for local people to share their views and raise concerns about issues affecting the town.

The event, attended by the Chair, Vice Chair and Town Clerk, enabled residents to discuss a wide range of topics and receive guidance on how their concerns could be addressed.

Among the issues highlighted by residents were weeds on residential estates and in areas such as Oxford Road and Oxford Avenue, the apparent lack of road sweeping and gutter clearing across the town, litter and weeds in the High Street Car Park, a faulty lamp post at Ridgebourne Close, a missing handrail in Rock Park, illegal parking in several locations, including outside local businesses and on Oxford Road and concerns regarding empty retail premises in the town centre.

Residents also discussed matters relating to the Town Council’s own work, including the council’s community grant programme and how precept funding is allocated.
