Plans for 20 new homes in north Shropshire village
It is unclear who is behind the plans.
Twenty new homes could be built in a north Shropshire village.
An outline planning application has been lodged for housing off Drayton Road in Hodnet.
It is unclear who is behind the plans, with no applicant details provided in the application form. However Nigel Thorns, of Nigel Thorns Planning Consultancy, has supplied a planning statement.
He said that, while matters such as housing numbers, layout, scale, appearance and landscaping are reserved for later approval, it is assumed it will relate to 20 dwellings. This will consist of 18 free market properties (with the most being three-bed) and two being affordable.
"Footpath links are provided within the site which would link the development to the wider footpath network (towards the village centre, to the village of Wollerton and out towards open countryside)," said Mr Thorns.
"The provision of affordable homes would assist in providing a safe, stable place to call home for local people, providing the foundation for health, dignity and opportunity. Affordable housing is a key element of the government’s plan to end the housing crisis and provide aspiring homeowners with a step onto the housing ladder."

Mr Thorns added that highway issues have been considered by Corun Transport and Highway Engineering, and a transport report has been submitted.
"There are no transport-related reasons to prevent planning permission from being granted," said Mr Thorns.
"Accordingly, the proposed development is acceptable in highway and transport terms and supports the delivery of sustainable housing growth in Hodnet."
Mr Thorns said it is anticipated that each of the proposed properties would include two parking spaces, with some including additional spaces within garages. There will also be cycle parking.
