Harper Adams alumni in Britain's Got Talent final as Jeremy Clarkson’s farmers choir among 'favourites to win'

Harper Adams pride has hit primetime as two former students help drive a farmers’ choir into the Britain’s Got Talent final.
Talented alumni from Harper Adams University who captured the hearts and ears of the nation are preparing for the performance of a lifetime after making it through to the final of Britain’s Got Talent this weekend.
The Hawkstone Farmers Choir was originally put together by Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy to help make an advert for his Hawkstone beer range.
Among those selected for the 32-strong group were former Harper Adams students James Florey, a fourth-generation farmer from Witney, and Gwen Woodruffe, who studied Agricultural Marketing the Shropshire university.
In March, the choir - which also aims to raise awareness for mental health challenges within the farming community - moved the nation in their first appearance on Britain’s Got Talent and secured a Golden Buzzer from judge Amanda Holden.

After judge Simon Cowell described the group as “one of the favourite to win” and securing the public vote in the semis last weekend, the group are preparing for the final this Saturday (May 30).
When not singing, James manages a 500-acre family farm in Oxfordshire, while Gwen now works at Butser Ancient Farm in Hampshire.
Gwen described her involvement in the group as a “dream come true”, and said it has boosted her own mental health.
She added: "Getting to sing in a choir with such wonderful voices is so uplifting. It has given me enormous joy and happiness, as well as boosting confidence and mental wellbeing."
The group is dedicated to raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention within the farming community - and have pledged that, if they win the £250,000 Britain’s Got Talent prize, a significant portion will be donated to agricultural mental health charities.
The final ITV's Britain's Got Talent will air on Saturday at 7pm.
