Final decision on Telford and Wrekin's local plan scheduled before the end of the year
Cabinet consideration of the local plan has been scheduled to happen on November 12 and could be approved before the end of the year.
Telford and Wrekin's local plan could be signed and sealed by the end of the year, leaders say.
Government inspectors are currently giving the local plan the final once over following the ending of a consultation period on modifications on July 20.

Some 24 organisations, councils and individuals responded to the consultation and they have now been provided to the inspectors as part of the independent examination.
Officials at public examination meetings held earlier this year that they believed that the process could be completed by the last day of 2026. That now seems to be working out.
A meeting of Telford and Wrekin Council's cabinet has been set for November 12, 2026 with an item on a report regarding the adoption of the Telford & Wrekin Local Plan on the agenda.
If the cabinet decides to support the local plan it will then head to a meeting of the full council for them to consider.

Councillor Carolyn Healy (Labour, Ironbridge Gorge) is the council's deputy leader and cabinet member for neighbourhoods, planning and sustainability and has been leading the local plan process.
Healy said: “Once the government’s independent planning inspectors are satisfied that the local plan is sound, it will be discussed at cabinet, with the intention to present the plan to full council by the end of the year for members to consider approval.”
