91 entries for the Hundred House tractor run on the weekend
The Hundred House Village Hall Committee honoured Mervyn Price for organising 20 years of the Hundred House tractor runs by presenting him with a cake to mark the occasion.

He was presented with the cake after this year’s run which started at 10.30am and toured the local communities.
Yet again the run attracted a large entry of 91 from Radnorshire, Herefordshire and Shropshire of either large or small tractors with a smattering of 4 x 4’s.

Mervyn in his trusty Fastrac led the procession of tractors to Franksbridge before turning left taking the road to the Cwm and across to the Rhogo road.
Climbing up the hill to turn right on the skyline to pick up the farm track and right of way across the hills to Bwlch Llwyn.

After a short stretch of tar road another off road section was taken, passing the Hendy windfarm and out to meet the main A44 at Pye Corner. Here the tractors did half a mile of main road before turning for Blaen Edw, now heading for the lunchstop at Mervyn’s home.

After an hour’s break the tractors wound their way along the country lanes to Brynmelys to reach the main road. Turning left and then right to the Fedw, climbing up the farm track to Gwaunceste Hill to the Giants Grave and dropping back down to Hundred House via the Rhiew Farm.

Once back at the village hall and after tea and coffee, Mark Hulin-Taylor took to the stage to announce that £1,500 had been raised for much needed funds for the hall, making a total of £17,500 raised in the 20 years of the run.

He then went on to thank Mervyn for his hard work and the celebratory cake was presented.

Then June, who donates the food and organises the hall catering and Sue, the hall committee secretary and organises the lunchtime catering, were presented with bouquets for their hard work over the 20 years.

He then went on to thank all other helpers of Sue and Ivor, Graham and Sue, Dennis, Jan, Carl, Deb, Ali, Christine and Sharon who marshalled the gates and junctions or helped with the refreshments and also Clive, who acts as back marker.
