Calling all farmers and content creators – get your entries in for a NFU reel competition

NFU Cymru is calling on farmers and budding content creators across Wales to get behind Welsh Farming Week 2026 by entering a brand-new social media reel competition celebrating sustainable food production.

With fantastic prizes on offer, which include an Outback Outfitters smock and £200 voucher, an INEOS Grenadier experience, a Ridgeline clothing £150 voucher and more, the competition aims to showcase the people, practices and passion behind Welsh food production.

The competition invites entrants aged 16 and over to create and share an original short-form video reel on social media highlighting what sustainable food production means on their farm.

From livestock management and crop production to environmental stewardship, habitat management, family farming traditions and the use of innovation and technology, NFU Cymru is encouraging entrants to tell their farming story through engaging and creative content.

NFU Cymru President, Abi Reader, who will judge the competition alongside NFU Cymru/NFU Mutual Wales Woman Farmer of the Year 2025, Robbie Alman-Wilson, said: “Welsh farmers have an incredible story to tell and this competition is a fantastic opportunity to share that story with a wider audience.

“Every day, farming families across Wales are producing high quality food while caring for the environment and embracing innovation. We want to see what sustainable food production looks like through farmers’ eyes and showcase the brilliant work taking place on Welsh farms to the wider public.

“Whether it’s footage of lambing, feeding livestock, growing crops, collecting eggs, milking restoring habitats or showcasing local produce, we’re looking for authentic, creative and engaging reels that celebrate and capture the very best of Welsh farming. We’re not expecting high-gloss production values, just a portrayal of what you’re doing on your farm using your camera phone.”

Winning reels (subject to T&Cs) will be showcased during Welsh Farming Week at the NFU Cymru Sustainable Farming Conference on Tuesday, June 30 in Monmouthshire and on the NFU Cymru stand at the Royal Welsh Show – sharing your story with the wider farming industry and a public audience.

To enter, participants must create an original reel in Welsh or English and post it on Facebook and/or Instagram. You must tag @NFUCymru and hashtag #WelshFarmingWeek or #WythnosFfermioCymreig. You must be over 16 to enter and the content of your reel must be original. Please ensure your reel post is set to ‘public’. Private posts cannot be viewed by the judges and may not be eligible for consideration.

Entries must be submitted by midday on Monday 29th June 2026. The judges will be looking for unique, captivating and absorbing reels that showcase Welsh farming and food production in a positive and original way.

For further information and full terms and conditions, visit the NFU Cymru website and social media pages. We look forward to seeing your creativity and learning about what you do on your farm.
