Plans for new dog waste bins in Kington are delayed until new budget discussions take place
Plans to purchase new dog waste bins for Kington will have to be considered when a new budget is set.
Members of the planning and environment committee had asked if new dog waste bins could be provided in the town.
They had gathered some quotes from two companies for supplying and delivering six waste bins and collection of the waste.
Supply and delivery would cost between £2,262 and £1,980 depending on the size of the bins required and collection prices would vary depending on the frequency of the bins being emptied.
At the September town council meeting, members were told that it had been identified that there is no budget for the dog waste bins this financial year.
The planning and environment committee therefore asked the finance committee if members would consider the request for new dog waste bins when they start setting the budget for 2027/2028 later this year or early next year.
Kington Town Council members agreed that the waste bins should be considered as part of the budget round.
