Eight weeks of roadworks to start on Oswestry A-road next week
Nearly two months of roadworks are to take place near Oswestry next week.
Eight weeks of planned roadworks are to start in Oswestry from the start of September.
From Tuesday (September 1) Read Construction will start work to reduce traffic flow along the A495 to a one-way system from Whittington onto the A5 roundabout in the easterly direction. Access from the A45 to Whittington will be closed in the westerly direction.
Traffic management measures are expected to be in place for eight week, with Shropshire Council's website showing that it is set to be finished by October 20. During this period, there will be a signed diversion route which will direct traffic through Gobowen.

A letter sent to residents sat that signs and traffic management measures will assist motorists and maintain access through the area wherever possible.
Progress of the work is subject to weather conditions.
The spokesperson for Read Construction said: "We appreciate that these works may cause some inconvenience to local residents, businesses and road users.
“The safety of residents, road users and our workforce is our priority, and we will continue to monitor the traffic management arrangements throughout the works to minimise disruption.
"We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause and thank you for your patience."
