'Warm, homely and nurturing' Shropshire village nursery praised by Ofsted after disputed 'inadequate' rating
A nursery near Church Stretton has been praised for its nurturing environment following a recent Ofsted inspection.
Woodlands Nursery, based in Hope Bowdler, has been commended by Ofsted following a visit by inspectors in December last year.
The report, published this week, said that children "thrive" in the "nurturing" and "warm, homely setting" of the nursery where they feel "safe and secure".
The nursery, which began as a preschool in 1997, received 'strong' judgements across key areas of provision including behaviour, welfare and inclusion.
"Children are nurtured by staff and know that they can go to any member of the team for comfort or support," the report stated.
"Children behave well. They play harmoniously with their friends in this inclusive nursery.
"Staff are excellent role models who demonstrate cooperative working and promote good manners. This helps children to learn how to be kind and respectful to others."
Parents also praised the nursery, telling the inspectors that the staff "go above and beyond" to support their children.
The latest ruling is a swift turnaround from a previous inspection made by the education watchdog just months prior.

Last summer, Ofsted informed the nursery that improvement was necessary after inspectors deemed the site 'inadequate'.
Inspectors had raised a number of concerns about poor hygiene and safety risks in a damning report that nursery leaders had heavily disputed.
At the time, a spokesperson for the nursery said the report did "not reflect the reality of our nursery" and said they "looked forward" to a "balanced" reinspection.
