Busy Bees Day Nursery in Priorslee has been upgraded by Ofsted to 'Good' in all areas after an inspection on September 18.

In January, the nursery was slapped with a 'Requires Improvement' grading by the education watchdog, with several shortfalls identified.

However, inspectors now say staff have made marked progress and are delivering high standards of care and education.

"Staff are positive role models," the report said. "They communicate using good manners and clearly explain their expectations for children's behaviour.

"Children are happy as they arrive at nursery. Parents are invited to walk them to their base room where they are warmly greeted by staff. This helps children to quickly settle in and be ready to start their day.

"Babies settle in extremely quickly and form secure relationships with kind and caring staff, which helps them to feel safe. Older children are eager to speak to visitors, demonstrating their confidence.

"Staff plan the nursery environment well, meaning that children can quickly choose something exciting to play with. This helps them to develop positive attitudes towards their learning."

The nursery was rated 'Good' in all four key areas - the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.

Inspectors also praised the nursery's support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), noting that staff plan carefully to meet individual needs. The report highlighted how the use of specialist equipment helps children engage more fully in their play and learning, enabling them to make good progress from their starting points.

Staff were also commended for the support they receive from leadership, including regular supervision meetings and access to training opportunities to strengthen their roles.

Support for children's communication and language development was also described as "strong”" with staff regularly singing songs and rhymes throughout the day.

Parents, too, had high praise for the nursery.

"Parents speak very positively about the nursery and say that their children receive excellent care," the report added.

"Staff provide parents with regular information about their child's care, learning and development. They also share resources and activities with parents to continue their children's learning at home."
