Two arrested from Telford address on suspicion of drug dealing

West Midlands Police’s ‘Operation Advance’ focused on tackling drug crime in March.

Three people have been arrested after West Midlands Police officers carried out a number of warrants as part of ‘Op Advance.’

Officers from the force’s County Lines Taskforce carried out a raid early on Tuesday, March 31 at an address on Cambridge Street, West Bromwich, where a man was arrested for multiple drugs offences.

The suspected drug dealer is believed to be linked to a drugs line and the 26-year-old is now in custody for questioning.

Following searches at multiple addresses suspected of being linked to the drugs line, officers recovered a mobile phone linked to drug dealing, cash and large amounts of Class A drugs.

A 34-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were also arrested from an address in Telford for drug dealing.

Detective Inspector Mark Robinson, from our County Lines Taskforce, said: "We've carried out a drugs warrant this morning at an address in West Bromwich.

"A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and he has been taken into custody. A man and a woman were also arrested in connection with drug dealing.

"My team are carrying out searches of addresses and it is all part of Op Advance.

"Thanks to great partnership work including with Safer Travel and multiple teams within West Midlands Police, we have been able to ensure we continue our work to keep the public safe and target organised crime."

Operation Advance, which takes place every month and covers a different part of the West Midlands, or a different type of crime type, each time.
