Powys sex offender denies engaging with children and resetting his mobile phone

A Powys sex offender has denied breaching a sexual harm prevention order 17 times in three years.

Mark Anthony Page pleaded not guilty to all the charges when he appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Tuesday.

He had previously appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates Court where no pleas were entered.

The 43 year-old of Temple Street is accused of trying to reset his mobile phone, deleting emails, Google Chat and Apple I-Cloud, and engaging with two under 18's – all of which he is banned from doing.

Page was made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order by Cardiff Crown Court on January 31 2020. The order was then amended by Cardiff Crown Court on August 15 2024.

Page faces charges of trying a factory reset of his mobile phone on July 20 2023, January 24 2024, May 15 2024, November 25 2024, November 15 2024, November 28 2024, deleting a Google Chat application on April 28 2023, engaging in unsupervised contact with an under 18 year old between September 7 2024 and October 30 2024, engaging in unsupervised contact with an under 18 year old between April 12 2024 and October 6 2024.

The other charges include deleting an Apple I-Cloud account on November 28 2024, deleting emails on July 4 2023 and February 2 2026 , installed a VPN twice on November 28 2024, registered a new mobile phone on July 20 2023 and deleted internet search history between September 30 2023 and October 11 2023.

The court was told Page has one previous conviction for seven offences.

His Honour Judge Jeremy Jenkins adjourned the case for a trial on July 5 2027 at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court.

Page remains on conditional bail, with various conditions relating to internet and computer use, no unsupervised contact with under 18's, not to stay in a house to live anywhere with under 18's, and one of residence to Temple Street, Llandrindod Wells.
