Motorist, 56, who took cannabis before driving in Shrewsbury gets road ban
Offender is also ordered to pay more than £250 over motoring crime
A motorist who drove after taking cannabis has been banned from the road.
Lesley Buttery, aged 56, drove a Peugeot 207 on Beddow Close, Shrewsbury on March 26 this year.
A drugs test found that Buttery had 4.2 micrograms of Delta 9 THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, per litre of blood in her system. The legal limit, accounting for the possibility of accidental exposure, is 2mcg.
Buttery, of Weyman Road, Wellington, Telford, pleaded guilty at Telford Magistrates Court to driving with a proportion of a controlled drug above the specified limit.
Magistrates banned Buttery from driving for 12 months and fined £120.
Buttery was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £48 victim surcharge, leaving her with a total legal bill of £253.
