Motorist, 28, banned for driving in Telford after taking cannabis
Magistrates also impose financial penalties over motoring offence.
A motorist who drove after taking cannabis has been banned from the road.
Bradley Smith, aged 28, drove a Cupra Formentor on Randlay Avenue, Stirchley, Telford on April 11 this year.
A drugs test found Smith had 8.5 micrograms of Delta 9 THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, per litre of blood in his system. The legal limit, accounting for the possibility of accidental exposure, is 2mcg.
Smith, of Oakfield Crescent, Marston Green, Birmingham, pleaded guilty at Telford Magistrates Court to driving with a controlled drug above the specified legal limit.
Magistrates banned Smith from driving for 12 months and ordered him to pay the court £253 - comprising a £120 fine, £85 in prosecution costs and a £48 victim surcharge.
