Co-op meat thief, 39, faces no immediate punishment
Shoplifter took £160 worth of meat including topside joints and sirloin steaks.
A shoplifter who stole more than £160 worth of meat from Co-op has been given no immediate punishment.
Robert Jones, aged 39, stole four topside joints, five sirloin steaks, four rump steaks and two reusable bags for life from the convenience store in Aston Street, Wem on April 7 this year.
Jones, of Willowfield, Woodside, Telford, pleaded guilty at Telford Magistrates Court to theft from a shop.
Magistrates handed Jones a 12-month conditional discharge, meaning he faces no immediate punishment.
However, if Jones reoffends in that timeframe, he could be resentenced more harshly for this crime, on top of any sentence for any fresh offences.
