Construction of six-storey Telford town centre apartment block complete

The first phase of the town centre development started in autumn 2023

Work has completed on a new six‑storey block of private‑rent apartments in Telford town centre.

Construction has come to an end on Denmark House, a block of 84 fully furnished homes in the emerging Station Quarter between Telford Shopping Centre and the railway station.

The apartments will be managed by Nuplace, Telford & Wrekin Council’s wholly owned housing company.

Alongside the main block, a further 33 Nuplace homes and 72 Legal & General affordable properties - including townhouses, low‑rise apartments and maisonettes - are also nearing completion.

Constructed by Bowmer + Kirkland, the apartments come with superfast broadband, a concierge service, 24/7 parcel lockers and a mix of indoor and outdoor communal spaces.

Councillor Richard Overton, the council’s deputy leader, said the completion marked “the first complex of its kind in Telford town centre” and a major step in creating “vibrant residential spaces” that make the borough an attractive place to live and work.

The scheme has received £4.725 million in grant funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority.

Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, said Station Quarter was “exactly the kind of scheme I want to back - homes in a town centre done properly,” adding that ambitious councils, supported with funding, could use housing as “a platform for people to get on with their lives” and as “a driver of growth” across the region.
