Detectives were today trawling through CCTV footage of a drive-by shooting at a Shropshire pub in the hunt for the gunman.
The 60-year-old victim was at The Station Hotel in Ladywood, Ironbridge, when the gunman opened fire from a passing car.
The man, who does not want to be named, was shot in the head by what was thought to be an air rifle at 9.10pm on Wednesday.
The man said he could have been blinded by the shot if it had been any closer to his eye. Landlord John Harrison said glass shattered everywhere and the victim was bleeding.
Chris Ammonds, Telford police spokesman, said: "We are hoping we might get some people coming forward who recognise the vehicle as it is not easy to recognise any people from the CCTV footage.
"Investigations are on-going and police are going through all the CCTV. There are no obvious developments but we are appealing for anyone who might recognise the vehicle to get in touch.
"Although no-one was seriously injured it could have been much worse."
The victim was watching the football with another customer when the gunman fired the shot.
Mr Harrison released CCTV footage to the Shropshire Star yesterday in the hope somebody would recognise the car to help police catch the gunman. The vehicle is believed to be a dark coloured, three-door hatchback.
