Cat shot with BB or pellet gun in Shropshire border town - police appeal for witnesses
The animal was taken to a vet who said the circular injury was consistent with a shooting
A cat has been shot with a BB gun in a Shropshire border town, police believe.
Officers are appealing for witnesses after the pet returned home in Spring Gardens, Tenbury Wells, near Ludlow, with a circular injury believed to have been caused by a BB or pellet gun shooting.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “The cat's owner last saw her pet leave their home in Spring Gardens at around 11.30pm on Sunday evening (May 31). When the cat returned the following morning, it had suffered a circular wound.
“The animal was taken to a veterinary practice, where staff advised that the injury was consistent with being shot by a BB or pellet gun.
“Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the Spring Gardens area that evening and may have witnessed anything suspicious or who has information that could help identify those responsible.”
