Watch: Six-year-old Bridgnorth schoolboy braves the shave for charity
A six-year-old schoolboy had his hair shaved off in front of his classmates to raise money for charity.

Michael 'Mikey' Robinson from Bridgnorth had his locks shaved off on Monday to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Receiving a grade two all over, Mikey's dad, Keith doesn't exactly know where the idea came from, but suspects it may have come from an advert on the TV.
The six-year-old told his dad that he didn't want a haircut, and wanted to grow out his hair for it to be made into a wig, and so Keith introduced 'Brave The Shave' to his son.
The St Leonards School pupil has surpassed his £300 target on his fundraiser site that could help go towards funding a nurse for a day, or treatment for people with cancer, and Mikey's aiming to grow his hair back out and create a new look for himself.
"It was exciting!" said the six-year-old after his classmates clapped and cheered as they watched on. "I want to raise £300!
"I want a mohawk (next), just like dad."
Keith laughed, saying: "I have a very subtle one."

The six-year-old's dad says that Mikey has nobody in his family with cancer, or that there's anything obvious that would've inspired the charity haircut.
When asked why he did it, Mikey said: "Because it's kind."
Keith is extremely proud of his lad to do such an act, saying: "He’s always been very thoughtful and kind and the Brave The Shave has completely come from him.
"I've been trying to track down the thing that has made him think of doing it and there’s plenty of adverts on the TV, but he's adamant it's not come from that."

Mikey was treated for a meal out at the Woodbury in Bridgnorth as a 'well done' from his grandparents and dad.
The six-year-old was very excited about some of his other treats from his father, and dressed up smart for his outing for tea.
He said: "My dad got me four prizes, we're going for a fancy meal, he got me some brownies, a jellyfish toy and a stretchy pig."

Alex Taylor from Taylor's of Bridgnorth barber shop cut Mikey's hair on Monday at the six-year-old's school, and the barber has offered the schoolboy a free haircut when his hair has grown back.
The barber said: "I think for a boy with such long hair it was a brave thing to in front of all his classmates and offering him an actual 'style' free of charge further down the line when it grows back was the least I could do.
"The young man who had the haircut was a great sport."
Meanwhile, a spokesman at St Leonards said: "Well done Mikey we are so proud of you and we all think you look great with your new haircut."
