Seniors enjoy fish supper on Shropshire railway

It's one of Britain's most traditional pastimes - nothing quite beats a decent fish and chip supper.
And this lucky group of pensioners got to enjoy their meal in the glorious surroundings of a sun-bathed platform on the Severn Valley Railway.
More than 100 senior citizens travelled along the length of the line from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster free of charge as part of an event organised by Bridgnorth Lions Club to give something back to the community.
The fish and chips were handed out on the platform at Kidderminster at the end of their nostalgic steam-powered trip, and were enjoyed by all those who took part in the trip.
Peter Parker, a member of Bridgnorth Lions Club, said: "A really good evening was had by all 140 senior citizens.
"We departed on time from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster on a sunny Friday evening.
"Upon arrival at Kidderminster, Bridgnorth Lions Club members collected fish and chips for all participants who sat on the platform to eat and enjoy the warm evening.
"The outing was simply a treat for the senior citizens of Bridgnorth and the surrounding area.
"We were not out to raise money and all guests came free of charge.
"Technically this is not an annual event but we do try to put on something every year for the seniors.
"They always support any fund raising event that we put on."
The lions hosted numerous events throughout the year and recently dressed in their finest clothes to help raise £500 for two charities during a casino night.
The club hosted the event for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and prostate cancer charities.
Visitors paid £20 for a ticket with guests receiving £1,000 of "funny money" to use at the various roulette and card tables, which raised £460.
Proceeds were split between the two charities, which included the lions' annual prostate screening tests, which this year will be held on October 27.
Since starting the programme five years ago, the tests have found more than 100 men with the disease, whom previously showed no symptoms.
The club needs to raise £10,000 per year to host the event.
