Bobby's: Court to hear appeal over Shrewsbury taco restaurant's bid to extend terrace opening hours
The appeal was discussed at Telford Magistrates Court
An appeal over a popular Shrewsbury taco restaurant’s bid to keep its outside seating area open longer will be heard in court later this year.
Bobby’s, based at The Parade in the town centre, was earlier this year given permission by a Shropshire Council sub-committee to open its terrace longer during the summer months - although the restaurant will still need to obtain planning permission to implement the change.

But now an appeal against the authority’s decision has been lodged and is due to be heard in court.
Court documents described the purpose of the appeal: “Appeal against a decision of the Shropshire Council licensing authority relating to Bobby's to grant an application to vary a premises licence under section 35 of the Licensing Act 2003 on the ground that the committee were wrong to decide that all licensing objectives had been met and were wrong to disregard the evidence from objectors.”
At a brief hearing on Monday (July 13) Telford Magistrates Court heard from representatives of the three named appellants - Stephen Lederer, Roger Stanley and R Harrison - and the council to fix a date for the appeal.
The appeal is set to be heard on November 16 and 17 this year at the same court.
