A5 near Shrewsbury closed after crash involving two motorbikes
The incident happened on the A-road between Shrewsbury and Oswestry
The A5 was closed on Sunday after a crash involving two motorcyclists.
Shortly before 1pm on Sunday (May 17) West Mercia Police announced the A5 Nesscliffe Bypass had been closed.
A spokesperson for National Highways said the southbound A5 had been closed between the B4396 (Wolfshead Roundabout) and A458 (Felton Butler) for “clear up works following a collision involving two motorcyclists”.
They added: “National Highways service providers are now on scene conducting clean up works to clean an oil spillage using specialist equipment.
“If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
An official diversion was put in place pointing drivers through Nesscliffe village.
