The Great British Farm Festival at Stoneleigh Showground in Warwickshire welcomed thousands of visitors this weekend for a celebration of British farming, food and countryside culture.
Festival host Jeremy Clarkson told crowds: “Every person needs a farmer three times a day,” as more than 50,000 visitors were expected to have attended the inaugural three-day event over May Bank Holiday weekend.
Visitors enjoyed appearances from Clarkson’s Farm stars including Kaleb Cooper, Lisa Hogan and Charlie Ireland, alongside live entertainment, machinery displays, livestock showcases and artisan food experiences across the 300-acre site.
Among those represented at the festival were several Staffordshire businesses and personalities, including JCB with its famous dancing diggers in the main ring, Lower Drayton Play Farm in Penkridge, Tamworth’s Spud Man, Just Oil and Just Crisps from Hill Ridware, and Pattingham Vineyard.
The weekend also featured emotional scenes as Jeremy Clarkson and Kaleb Cooper watched the Hawkstone Farmers Choir reach the final of Britain’s Got Talent, while Saturday night entertainment included sets from Chris Moyles, The Shires and Sara Cox.
Speaking about the event ahead of May 24, Festival Director Chris Hughes said: “The atmosphere across the site has exceeded all expectations. Visitors have truly been embracing our Festival’s unique blend of farming, food and country entertainment, and we can’t wait to entertain them again on our final day.”
