Police officers in Shrewsbury, as well as crews from West Mercia Search and Rescue, did an underwater search on the Severn today after investigations failed to find anything yesterday.
During their search this morning they found a body. Formal identification is currently taking place.
Now police are asking for anybody who might have seen something to come forward.
Four fire crews, including the fire service's boat team, were sent to the Sydney Avenue area of Shrewsbury at 2.18pm yesterday.

It came after reports that someone was in the water in the approach to Shrewsbury Weir.
The firefighters searched the water and the banks in and around the weir for around two hours but called the search off for the day at around 4.30pm due to poor visibility, before continuing the search today.
Anybody with information is asked to call police on 101, citing crime reference number 389S of December 2.
