The building, on the corner of New Park Street and Castle Foregate, used to trade as The Plough public house before being converted in to HCS Computers in 2009.

Last year, the business moved to nearby SMC Music and the property has stood vacant for more than 12 months.

Now plans have been submitted by Edward Goddard of Shrewsbury-based Paterson Enterprises LTD, to convert the Grade II-listed building into four flats, with parking spaces for eight cars and two cycles.

Under the proposal the building will be converted into three two-bedroom flats and a one-bedroom maisonette.
