16 incredible photos as Italian vehicles takeover Bridgnorth

Bridgnorth’s High Street was transformed into a stunning display of style and power with the return of the annual Italian Auto Moto showcase.

The event, which took place on Sunday, featured a host of spectacular high-performance vehicles, including well-known supercars from Ferrari and Lamborghini, as well as some of the rarer Italian creations.

Organiser, David Morris, said it had been a record year for entries, with around 150 vehicles taking part.

Despite the high-powered top-end vehicles on display, the car of the show award was actually taken by a more modest submission - an immaculate vintage Fiat police car.

Mr Morris said that the popularity of the show and its venue was bringing in owners and visitors from across the country.

He said: “Now we don’t really have to advertise the event, it is in people’s diaries, they know it is always on the first Sunday in September and anyone with a special Italian car from across the country knows when it is on and will do their level best to attend.”

He added: “It seems clear to us that a lot of people are coming from some distance away to see the show. In the early days it was just Bridgnorth and the surrounding area but it has become quite clear people are coming from a lot further afield because it is a great day out - it is free and people can enjoy the town and its business and grab a coffee, or something to eat.”

Mr Morris said he had been thrilled with the attendance from visitors, and the calibre of vehicles on show.

He said: “We had some really rare cars. The other Italian shows around the country have had very few Lancias this year and we had a really strong turnout or rare Lancias which was fantastic.”

Other rare vehicles on show included a De Tomaso Pantera.

Proceeds from donations and entry fees from the event will be split between Bridgnorth Rotary Club and the town’s food bank.
