The team at Urban Automotive has revealed its take on a Land Rover Defender pick-up truck with the Widetrack Avontur prototype.

Urban Automotive is a British firm that specialises in modifying some of the world’s most luxurious vehicles and the Widetrack Avontur prototype has been developed to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary.

The Widetrack Avontur is based on a Land Rover Defender 110 Hard Top Commercial variant, but has had several changes made to its exterior and chassis to create this concept.

It was built under Urban’s extensive engineering programme and includes a new carbon fibre bonnet, a bespoke rear body architecture, bespoke structural engineering and rollover frame, an integrated utility rail system and an exposed carbon fibre load bed.

Other details include an embossed Urban Automotive icon logo in the load bed, an integrated bottle holder in the tailgate and carbon fibre side trims.

Urban Automotive has not revealed what powertrains will be available on the Widetrack Avontur, though it’s likely to use the same mild-hybrid diesel, plug-in hybrid petrol and V8 setups found in the standard Defender.

There will be a choice of different carbon fibre finishes to the vehicle’s exterior, while gloss and matt lacquer finishes will be available.

The Widetrack Avontur is just a prototype for now, though customers can register their interest through Urban Automotive’s website.
