Skoda launches new 3D-printed Simply Clever features

Dedicated accessories can be printed at home.
Skoda has created a series of new ‘Simply Clever’ features which could be printed at home.
First launched in the early 2000s, Skoda’s Simply Clever features have become a constant in its cars, with accessories such as umbrellas in the doors and integrated ice scrapers in the fuel filler door popular among buyers.
Now, however, the brand is launching new 3D-printable accessories via Printables, a 3D model database.

With this technology, users can download the necessary plans to create accessories such as cupholders and storage boxes free of charge and print them at home. They’ve been designed by Skoda’s own engineers and designers and can be used in a range of models, both current and discontinued. Skoda says that the ability to print off accessories at home means that drivers can avoid the lead times of ordering them directly from the manufacturer.
Highlights include cupholders, cable management tools and coin boxes which have all been designed to work across multiple models. Many require no modification to the vehicle whatsoever.

There are new features for the new Peaq and Epiq models, too, including cupholder covers, a larger box storage area and a lower console organiser. A clip-on cupholder for the Peaq’s foldable table can also be printed in a variety of sizes to accommodate smaller and larger cups. Skoda says that these accessories were specifically requested by the brand’s community, too.
A wider range of accessories is now available for a variety of Skoda models, with all available to view and download via the Printables website.
