Powerful new hot hatch will hit forecourts in July
Honda has revealed pricing for its next-generation Civic Type R.
Set to hit forecourts in July, the new 316bhp hot hatch will cost from £30,995 – £795 more than the car it replaces. Higher specification ‘GT’ models will command an additional £2,000 premium – but will feature a wider variety of extra equipment.
Those choosing ‘GT’ cars will benefit from dual-zone climate control, LED front fog lights and full Garmin satellite navigation, among other features.

Phil Webb, head of cars at Honda UK, said: “As with the previous generation, we are fully expecting a huge demand for the Civic Type R. The order bank is already open and we are experiencing strong interest off the back of the launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March – and this is before our customers have even taken a test drive.”
The company received around sixty orders prior to this pricing announcement, and Honda predicts sales of around 1,000 cars a year.

The Civic Type R was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, and has been extensively developed to provide the most invigorating drive possible. Powered by a 2.0-litre VTEC turbocharged petrol engine, its 316bhp is accompanied by 400Nm of torque. Power is driven to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox with a rev matching system ensuring that each shift is seamless.
Honda has also announced PCP pricing for the car, with monthly payments starting at £299 a month on a three year 5.9 per cent contract for the base Civic Type R.
