I enjoyed an afternoon tea with Kim, director and owner of the Little Christmas Shop & Mrs Claus' Kitchen

If you just can't wait for Christmas, you're in luck. In the first of its kind, a year-round Christmas shop and cafe has opened its doors to serve festive treats every day of the year.

Run by director Kim Warren, the Little Christmas Shop & Mrs Claus' Kitchen sits twinkling away on the high street, with a little balcony that overlooks the Severn.

The savoury bites

Kim, who worked as a hairdresser for 25 years and ran a Christmas shop for three, said she wanted to "diversify the business" by moving to a bigger site and having a Christmas cafe and shop in one – which she says is the first of its kind in the UK.

As I stepped inside, I instantly forgot about the grey, tepid weather and was instead met with a tearoom that resembles a warm, cosy cottage.
